‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for. Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks. ‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast. Somewhere between Ian Pooley and Hipp-E & Halo in a state of perpetual sunset. Last but not least, we hit ‘Born In The 80s’. Don’t be fooled by the title, this ain’t no nostalgic throwback; it’s another timeless slab of deep house heaven where the era is referenced beautifully in the gentle, dreamy but insistent melody that folds and pleats so majestically over the top, it’s one of those tunes that really does make you forget where you are and what era you’re in.
