After releases on Don’t Be Afraid and Astro:Dynamics, as well as a contribution to Fifth Wall’s No Person is an Island V/A charity compilation, Berlin-via-London producer Alis returns to Hound Scales’ and Divvorce’s Fifth Wall imprint with the Apache EP. The A side is home to her two original productions: “Apache,” a waterlogged, wind-blown journey through arcane, genre-bending techno, and “Modus,” a more direct outing with an acid line that could take the paint off your mother’s car. Two sweltering reinterpretations of “Apache,” one by Brooklyn tunesmith Ital and another by fellow Fifth Waller Matrixxman, populate the B side.
