Mexican duo, Zombies in Miami, make a powerful return to Correspondant that
manage to capture the menace, drive and excitement of their live show.
Title track "Black Purple" is a growling and growing full frontal assault. A high octane blend of rolling bass and motorik percussion, paired with electronic swells and an almost ecclesiastic refrain from vocalist Jenice.
The second original track "Shadows" initially takes a more stripped-back approach, but quickly grows into darkly anthemic proportions, with echoes and stabs eventually giving way to vocals, soaring spacious synths, and a truly hypnotic bass melody.
Italian partnership, Marvin & Guy, make their first appearance on Correspondant with their dramatic remix of Black Purple. Built around a pumping analogue bass arpeggio, the added layers of vocals and synth melodies take the track in to altogether more emotional territory, but with a booming techno pulse holding it all together.
