Yasmin had an amazing 2011 with the release of her cult underground single 'On My Own' and more recently the Labrinth produced 'Finish Line' hitting the UK Top 15. She returns with the legendary drum'n'bass and jungle maestro Shy FX with an old school, reggae infused carnival jam 'Light Up (The World)' featuring Ms Dynamite, available through Levels Entertainment and Ministry of Sound on 15th January. Yasmin has fast become one of the hottest names on the scene and after a series of packed festival performances this summer at home and in the Balearics she also supposted No.1 artist Example at the iTunes festival where she premiered 'Light Up (The World)' and supported Snoop Dogg on his UK tour dates in October. Now she has notched up a MOBO nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2011 awards along with presenting an award and performing at the launch party. As well as working with some of the freshest names in music Yasmin has become one of the darlings of the fashion world. Straight from a photoshoot with the king of Italian couture Mr Roberto Cavalli himself she has also been personally invited by UK Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman to perform on Vogue's stage at last year's exclusive Vogue Fashion Night Out. Yasmin first appeared on the scene when she was spotted by no other than Pharell Williams during one of her DJ sets that soon led to studio sessions with Labrinth (Tinie Tempah), Future Cut (Lily Allen, Devlin) and Shy FX (Dizzee Rascal), who she has collaborated with on her debut album. Yasmin has also been in the studio with Jamie Smith - producer and remixer of groundbreaking and Mercury music prize winning band The XX. She DJ'ed back to back with Jamie at the underground Young Turks night at The Boiler Room where they performed a version of a track they had worked on together, a cover of the massive dance classic 'Touch Me' by Riu De Silva. The metallic beat remix of the track coupled with Yasmin's ethereal vocals have made it a massive hit on Hype Machine. Yasmin has also been working with some of the biggest names in music production in the US including Diplo (MIA, Kanye West) and The Smeezingtons (B.o.B, Kid Cudi, Bruno Mars).
