When the first T-RWRK 12" on Boot Holic dropped last year the deep house community went bananas for the mysery reworks that were being played by all those in the know. If you blinked, you'd missed that 12". A little digging revealed that the men behind that smash were Tuccillo and Tamura, whose Doublet project on Tamura's Holic Trax have been big favourites here. This time, the dynamic duo have been joined by a mystery W (could it be Holic Trax collaborator Rick Wade? Who knows!) to take things right back to the old school with two Chi town reworks that'll demolish your nearest floor. On the A-side, "Body 2 Body" is a hypnotic builder built on some crunchy 808s and a bubbling bass. Vocals are chopped and looped into layers of sound and a glassy marimba line works its way right into the cerebral cortex. Once the vocals are unleashed in full, it's game over for anyone who "doesn't dance". Massive, building deep house that sounds like it could have come straight from a Norwegian's record bag. On the flip, "Donnie" is a rework of The It's 1986 break up song of the same name. Coming from the mind of Larry Heard and Harry Dennis, and featuring the unmistakable vocals of Robert Owens, this could be from nowhere other than the windy city. W & T go to work with the Dub, Accapella and Hardy mix of the original for a full technicolor update that'll blow up a set.
