Old Volcanoes is the debut album from Warm Brains, the warped of imaginings of London based DIY producer Rory Attwell. Having previously played in a spate of bands, including a passionate tenureship with press-favourites ‘ex-Test Icicle’, to a more recent involvement with alt goth-punk outfit Kasms, Rory has successfully juggled each with a growing reputation as London’s most revered DIY producer. A producing pedigree that, under the moniker Brattwell Recordings, has developed and influenced UK bands such as Male Bonding, Fair Ohs, Teeth!!!, S.C.U.M, Veronica Falls, Cold Pumas, Holy State and many more. Rory finally decided to converge his knowledge and experience, to spill his brains and start work on his own ideas. In Spring 2010 at Pallet Recording Studio, co-run by Rory and Tom Vek (writer and producer on the album Leisure Seizure), Rory began labor on his ambitious plans with startling effects. A subsequent six months spent sneaking the odd hour or two between recording sessions, allowed him to gradually pull together an album of self-penned material, drawing on all his recording experience and ‘jack of all trades…’ approach to instrumentation, until finally building an album that even he would be happy with. Written, produced and sung by himself with added vocals from (Roxanne Clifford from Veronica Falls, Gemma Fleet from Trogons and Florence Van Camerijk from Paradise).
