Following a characterful introductory release The Untold Stories returns with a magical double vinyl VA, again in their customary yellow and black vinyl colour scheme, respectively representing the sun and the darkness. Entitled Chapter I, it brings to the fold a whole new selection of artists, consisting of 8 tracks, each full of the distinct spirituality which appears to be so central to the music the project releases. The first record, of two, begins with a work by the bright artist Furz, from the lands of South America, who skilfully combines his natural latin rhythm with sounds filled with a modern attitude to create an irresistibly extroverted groove. Then comes Suokas with 'Holy Moment', a new momentum, more spiritual, a track rich in ecstatic brass, wind, and horns, which all ring out exalting. Turning the record over we find an Andrey Zots work, where intricate percussion, highly charged with energy and attitude, traverse a mysterious landscape with cool and assured footwork. Concluding the first record is Ivan Lopez, releasing under his birth name for the first time, with a beautifully creative work, in which rich earthy sounding percussion provides the momentum through an air at once sensual and ethereal. The second record begins in the midst of a wild imagination, the track 'Interne' by Pheek, full of primal rhythm, the heat of a meeting, all very ritualistic. Then comes Shcaa's track 'Exil', a dark mood with confident gait, a work seemingly with conflict of body and mind, as the vocal evocatively suggests 'Get yourself together', adding to the ominous mystic. The final side begins with the Suburbs masterful piece 'Regarde le ciel': filled with monstrous sounds of transformation and succinct strong bass which push through a mystical air, all at once in harmony with the laid-back and attractively arrogant step of the groove. Out of this masterful darkness we come to the final track 'Never stop' by Mikael Stavostrand featuring K.atou, which in light and positive mood brings to an end the first chapter of The Untold Stories.
