Continuing it's "quality first" ethos Black Box returns with a four pack of dancefloor artillery with phazers set to kill. Bristol-based Hungarian ex-pat DJ Madd teams up with compatriate Matt-U, delivering a tough four-tracker for Black Box. Madd flies solo on 'Dub Marine', employing junglistic sub bass that swoops low under scissoring breaks and tinny splash snares, then teams up with Matt-U on 'Running Man' to drop a Joker-esque anthem of mutating buzzsaw basslines, psychedelic synthesis and b-boy beats. Matt-U builds a tense stepper on 'Void', distorted percussive mids jabbing between fluttering chords and solid bass foundation, and his Headhunter collaboration rounds off the EP with scifi FX, stabbing Berlin chords and militant breaks.
