Roska Kicks & Snares are back with a fourth essential vinyl-only installment of their Allstars EP series. You should know the deal this time around as once again three unstoppable producers from the label lace the wax with dramatic yet tasteful dancefloor masterclasses plucked from previous digital-only outings. We kick things off with Shox's eponymous highlight from his 'Battlestar EP', which is lead by a bed of low 4/4 bass rumble yet contains those essential siren sounds which fluctuate in pitch throughout the record. Shox brings it all together with a drum pattern containing scattered hi-hats and subtle cymbals for a buoyant and bubbling workout. Gemmy's 'Badman Ting' follows and treads a rougher path with the producer's trademark menacing yet playful bass dancing it's way through the head-nodding drum-work. The Hungarian duo Slap In The Bass wrap up proceedings with the title track from their newest EP 'Utopia', a hands in the air bassy bubbler to close the record. The Allstars releases seem to have a knack of connecting the dots between Roska's crew of experimental rogues and once again this tidy three-tracker only strengthens Kicks & Snares’ reputation as the go-to label for upfront rebellious rhythms.
