Francesco Tristano takes on one of the most recogniseable piano riffs of all time with his remix of ‘Merry Christmas Mr. Laurence’, which, after a brief introduction of that seminal loop, descends into deep, dubby house cut punctuated by shimmering keys. Patrice Baumel’s remix is an intense techno workout that is in many ways the antithesis of his definitive ‘Roar’: a non-stop pummeling via clattering percussion and a heavy, pulsing bassline.
