The first gem to be unearthed on the EP is Lumindisco’s ‘Too Night’, a deep and down tempo track that reverberates a flickering bassline and floating vocals. This takes you nicely on to ‘Give me your love’ by the Prodigal Son of Funk himself, Rocco Raimundo. If this track were any more laid back and soothing, it could be bottled and dispensed to kids with an ASBO. The distinct vocals of Toni Braxton feature in Matthew Kyle’s after hours edit ‘Toni’ – a calculated and infectious achievement that will inevitably convince you that you have grooves and moves. And what better way to recapture and relive the sounds of the 80’s with ‘All Night’ by The Groovers – a fine version that Lionel would surely approve of.
