The minds behind Ltd, W/Lbl are at it again with another spectacular release on their Black Label imprint. This time we see a Jazzy A-side matched with a darker approach to Tech House on the reverse. “Cool Jazz Boogie” has what everyone needs to squeeze what they can of what’s left of summer vibes. “Appeal to Darkness” takes a classic sample and makes it shine with the help of an intimate Saxophone. The B-side takes us to the land of Tech-House with two ominous and glitchy excursions. “Heartstrings” opens it off with the longest cut on the release and easily the most emotional as well. A double bass joined with some soft-spoken and emotional lyrics are excellently juxtaposed against some very sterile glitch effects and blips. “I wish you have a good journey” places an excellent (string) solo over a simple and effective groove to keep things grounded in the realm of glitchy-dub-techno.
