In the mid eighties space was all around us. Advances in space travel, arcade games like Pacman, the first home games consoles and early computers which allowed us to play games like Asteroids in our own homes all helped to put space travel into our minds. We didn't have the means to get into space physically but with electro music and a little imagination there was no final frontier. Here we have a superb selection of electro tracks from that era and beyond that will take the listener into universal bliss and the dancer to B.Boy heaven! From classic early 80's US recordings from Newcleus and Hashim to the timeless Riuchi Sakamoto classic "Riot In Lagos" (Mantronix who also features on this album cites this record as a strong influence) Also check the late 80's tracks from the likes of Masters At Work with the tough 1987 release "Alright Alright" (produced by Todd Terry - he later gave the name to mutual friends Kenny Dope and Louie Vega), The Unknown DJ and DJ Slip's hard to find 1988 release "X Men" to the more recent 1995 Jedi Knights classic "May The Funk Be With You" and the excellent little known Nugroove track from The Sound Vandals entitled "Ecstacy, What Is It". 1.
