Following their first release, which featured four brand new artists, the guys over at Disconnected are back with DSCNTD 002. This time it's a full EP from Chocky, which features a remix from Brooklyn's Krts. The DSCNTD releases resist the modern addiction to genre pigeon-holing, instead they focus on pushing a variety of interesting and emotive sounds. This five track EP captures the rich and varied musical inspirations of the mysterious man simply know as Chocky. First up is 'Down with Idris', a beautifully, blissed-out slice of electronica. Krts supplies a dusty, broken remix with a deep, creeping progression; these two versions really compliment each other. On the flip you'll find the jazzy 'Can I Mither You', suspenseful but really groovy house music. Finishing the whole thing off is the deep as you like 'Frizzy Fuzz'; lovely drums and synths, pure atmosphere. And keep an ear out for Chocky's interlude/DJ tool 'Ripp Off', it pays homage to his love of sampling... 300 single pressed, hand stamped & individually numbered records.
