From the midwestern crew who introduced the world to Life Sucks Die Magazine and the annual Dre Day parties comes their second vinyl compilation, a follow-up to 2008's smash "Do it To it" EP. Created to coincide with their unofficial SXSW dance party and DJ showcase of the same night, the Minneapolis based graphic design and screenprinting studio Burlesque of North America compiled remixes from some of the best DJs and remixers on the come-up right now. The result is a nuclear bomb of a collection of audience-approved, dancefloor-filling, hand-raising club jams guaranteed to keep any party moving. --- The record opens with Bird Peterson's jaw-droppingly insane "Torture Motherf*cker." An informal follow up to his mega-hit "Wu Tang Joint," "Torture" features chopped vocals from everyone's favorite 36 Chambers skit over Method Man samples and gigantic drums. --- On "JB Baby," DC's Dave Nada takes the funk of James Brown and adds in the dizzying Baltimore club energy that only he can add. Philadelphia's Emynd comes with an updated version of 2 Bad Mice's hardcore classic "Hold it Down," rebuilding the track from scratch with his Philly club sound. --- Side 2 kicks off with The Wizard of Gaz (A.K.A. Bitch Ass Darius)'s "Preacher Man," a heavy percussion laden remix of the Dusty Springfield classic that closes with a mind-melting hardcore acid breakdown. --- Hot on the heels of his "12 Steps" full length album, T&A Records co-founder Tittsworth adds his signature thumpin' club sounds to the Dave Chappelle Show's ever-quoted "I'm rich Beeotch!" on his stompin' "I'm Rich," and Burlesque's own Mike the 2600 King gets it in with his uptempo call-andresponse club banger "Hold Up I'm Comin'." --- To keep the Life Sucks Die/D.I.Y. spirit alive, the 12" jackets were designed, screenprinted, and assembled at Burlesque's studio in Minneapolis. Burlesque has designed and printed numerous awardwinning concert posters, art prints, and album packaging for Diplo, Spankrock, Arcade Fire, MGMT, Upper Playground, and Stones Throw Records, and they have also been featured in several publications including XLR8R, Juxtapoz, and in the final issue of Mass Appeal.
