Adrien and Marco aka Villanova hail from France and have really put their sound on the map in recent times. Taken from the 'Monk EP' released a few months ago, 'On The Loose' is an innovative track combining the dark bluesy vocals from Elbi with a unique brand of electronic soul. Here is a special version produced by Mr Fingers aka Larry Heard. The result is a stunner: electronic samba beats, lush live keys, a simple but purely effective bassline, and an emotive cosmic touch that could only come from one of the pioneers of House Music. On the flip, Amsterdam-based DJ/producer Philou Louzolo is responsible of a great new version of 'Smokey' by Easy To Remember. Born in Tuscany in Arezzo, since 2008 the Italian duo by brothers Elia Perrone and Niro have been running their own night at Klang Club and their label Unclear Records. 'Smokey' is a tasty boogie track and Philou Louzolo draws on his Congolese, Sierra Leonian and Nigerian heritage taking us on an exquisite journey combining soul, funk, disco with his funky afro-infused touch. The track anticipates a brand new Easy To Remember EP set for a release later in the year. Something from the past…and something for the future !
