Soniculture is proud to present volume one of the remix project for Billy Dalessandro’s “Polis” album, and what a release this is, with overwhelming versions from a selection of the hottest techno producers around. Beginning with the master of Berlin techno, Alexander Kowalski offers us a passionate and emotional version of “Only your touch”. Being so perfectly produced, there is not much to say. On the contrary, we should listen to it over and over again and enjoy it continuously. Elias Landberg, the swedish producer that has already released before on Soniculture together with Anders Jacobson or as Chordian, ventures on a solo mission to make a rough and naughty version of “Call Girl”. Using a tape recorder to make it even dirtier, he takes it down to the ghetto Detroit style. From the outstanding french techno producer, Nhar, who released “Derceto” on Soniculture 013, comes an acid version of “Nanomachines”. He transformed the original making everything more involving, hypnotic and dark. A great contribution from one of the most interesting new artists of the current techno scene. From Portugal, Monocline’s Re:Axis worked on “Inebriate” and did what they do best, taking a more minimal approach, with attention to fine detail and an exemplary work on sound design. This is a great sequel to their previous “Return” EP on Soniculture Unlimited 004, demonstrating how talented and original they can be. Stay tuned for “Polis - The remixes” volume 2, with remixes from Exercise One, Jason Emsley, Brian Ffar and Thinkfreak.
