Bananza Music is back! After a two year break one of the USA’s most respected underground house labels is set to relaunch in February 2009 with new remixes of one of their biggest past records, Trademarq’s ‘Broken Wagon’. The remixes come courtesy of Chicago legend Derrick Carter, Bon Johnson, Marko Militano and The Bald & The Beautiful. Bananza’s ethos has always been to develop new talents alongside the industry's greats, something in evidence on ‘Broken Wagon Remixes’, with the likes of Derrick Carter sitting alongside the up and coming The Bald & The Beautiful. The vinyl will be released soon with digital following. Future releases in 2009 are lined up from Joshua Iz (from Iz & Diz) and the production duo of JT Donaldson & CPEN. Bananza’s resurgence comes thanks to a new vinyl deal offered by leading French distributor Topplers.
During their two year absence the label’s home-grown talent, namely Marko Militano and Trademarq (the production partnership of Militano and Tari Litz) have been building their reputation with releases on some of the world’s most respected deep house labels including Classic Music (run by Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon), Lazy Days (run by Fred Everything) and .dotbleep (run by Justin Long). Bananza Music was established in Boston in 2004 by George Nessis, Marko Militano and Tari Litz and quickly build up a solid reputation as one of the most reliable labels around thanks to original tracks and remixes from Brett Johnson, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Moody B, Marko Militano, Joshua (Iz), No Assembly Firm, DJ Ali and Demarkus Lewis. The label’s last release was in March 2007 and came from Trademarq. Bananza Music is now based in Denver.
