Development Music return with their first offering of 2011, a single from label co-owner Tomson featuring the poetic talents of Detroit’s spoken word sensation Diamondancer. Tomson makes his debut on the label following a string of productions and remixes on labels such as Freerange, Tone Control and Deepermotions among others. His solo work and collaborations with artists such as Paul Randolph and Benedict have gained strong DJ support from the likes of Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Deetron and Jimpster to name but a few. The new single entitled “Tap the Core” sees Tomson team up with renowned Detroit poet Diamondancer. Her soul searching and often thought provoking vocals have featured on labels such as Third Ear, Still Music and Sonar Kollectiv (To name but three). The combination of Tomsons building intense groove and Diamondancers almost hypnotic verse is sure to do damage to the deepest of dance floors. The song is remixed by a bevy of top notch production talent featuring Mixmode’s legendary Delano Smith, Huddtraxx head honcho Eddie Leader and fresh from his fantastic recent release on Yoruba Records we have At One. Delano Smith provides a truly authentic slab of Detroit on his version of the song, with punchy electronic synths riding over relentlessly pounding drums and dancefloor shaking arrangement, taking the motor city vibe into full effect. Eddie Leader arrives on Development Music following a string of acclaimed EPs on his own Huddtraxx label, collaborating with partner Yuriano and delivering a classic sounding house track with lush chords and touches of acid to take the song into funkier, Chicago-esque territory.
