"Abduction" is Thought Broadcast's fourth LP, and marks a decade since the project began in New York City. Since 2009, Thought Broadcast never set out to make some kind of sublime technological statement or overt "experimentation" but rather, to plot the extremes of post-industrial music within its own furtive system. The first major statement in four years, this LP actually showcases with clarity for the public material that had been circulating and celebrated among a very small circle. And unlike previous Thought Broadcast releases, "Abduction" introduces a more violent, rapid-cycling dynamic, drawing on the strategy of the cutup. Inhuman, monolithic rhythms suddenly dissolve into nocturnal hallucinations; tunneling electronics become corrosive, gothic voids. Everything remains sealed in a state of dissociative minimalism. "Behind all masks lie dark and unconscious streams which cannot be disassociated from the pleasure of architecture."
