“OZ Theme” was originally issued on 10 inch Sunshine Sound Acetate in 1979.
The OZ was a Disco in Montreal that opened May 2, 1979, on the site of the former Stork Club in Canada. This acetate was made only for advertising on radio and television and was never issued commercially.
On the A side is the Em Vee Edit of this originally short song. The second track is the original ace- tate track.
“It’s A Better Than Good Time” by Gladys Night and the Pips, Walter Gibbons’ original long ace- tate Mix. This full length version of Walter’s mix was never issued commercially.
The only commercial version is the 6 minute edit on Buddah Records, which was issued only as a canadian pressing. Only very few of these acetates exist, and most of these were recorded in less than perfect quality.
So here is the remastered track from one of those original acetates.
Don’t expect a perfect version, but now you can hear the full length recording, as it was played in the Discos in the seventies! Enjoy!”
