DSCI4’s latest LP offering ‘Final Chapter’, is, sadly, the final chapter in the label’s history. Founded back at the turn of the century by
the legendary DJ Trace it became one of the standard bearers for the ‘Techstep’ sound in drum and bass with an enviable
discography, including the revered ‘Spy Technologies’ series of compilations, as well as helping to bring through now household
names such as Black Sun Empire and Chris SU along the way. Yet 13 years down the line Trace has decided to call it a day and what
better to way to go out than with a bang...
A special mention must go to ‘Prominence’ by Stranjah however which is without doubt one of the most ridiculous tunes to grace my
ears in a very long time. Drawing you in with some dreamy bukem-esque pads, 32 bars later you're getting battered into submission
with some wailing synths, mental amen edits and pounding bass. Absolute carnage.
