With the Berlin based producer Stefan Goldmann, one of the most interesting border crossers of current electronic dance music is joining the Cocoon family. After releases for Perlon, Ovum, Music For Freaks and Mule Electronic, Goldmann started his pathbreaking label Macro two years ago, proving effectively his understanding of reduced but sensual Elektronika that broadens the listener’s horizon with remixes for Pete Namlook or with an edit of Russian-French ballet expressionist Igor Strawinsky’s “Le Sacre du Printemps". On his debut for Cocoon, the skilled phonetician draws a mysterious but irresistible intersection from mild acid citations, dub-infected Minimal House, Francophil sound aesthetics and pumping bass kicks; almost ten minutes of hypnotical and opulent cinemascope broadband House, which should have a special mind-opening function, especially when received open air. But wait, there’s still more to come: “Under The Beam” leads this affinity to an elementary freestyle within a strict beat and pizzicato strings as well as orchestral horn riffs to a playful Furioso that will be unforgettable when it comes to drawing the balance of club life in 2009 - promised!
