Few people really get close to paying homage to 'Jeff Mills techno' quite like Steffan Linzatti, and perhaps the only other name to instantly spring to mind is the emerging Mike Storm. Brooklyn label Chronicle welcomes Linzatti back for a second time following his The Confirmer debut. The Swede's not shy of handing tracks over either, and six have been cut on to this one 12". There's some serious Something In The Sky loops and spookiness going on in "Destination (Bright)", while "The Slight, But Dramatic Difference" is no nonsense 909, call and bleepy response techno. Each inner-cut on each side of this record houses and beatleass track too, and the first, "A Burst Of Directions", sounds like a TV score from '60s show Lost In Space, while "A Rush Of Reality" is Kubrick-esque with it's 2001: A Space Odyssey ambient classicalism. Completing the EP is a heavier, tension-fuelled "Behind The Scene Of Light" while "System Down" is stripped-back and slightly playful techno without the reverb.
