After the summer-infused smash that was “Yellow Shoes” & “Mystic Sunset”, it’s about time we took things back to the dancefloor. We’re talking the 3am, grimy, face melting kind of music that makes your face contort involuntarily. Serving up this slice of heavy duty DnB are Innerground favourites S.P.Y and 8 Bits Feat Q Project. “Hotspot” first featured on DJ Marky’s FabricLive compilation at the beginning of the year and is exactly the kind of driving anthem required to populate the dancefloor. S.P.Y. brings some of the ASBO flavour to the track and a deep and winding bassline is punctuated only by a haunting female vocal. On the flip, 8 Bits and Q Project combine beautifully to unleash “T1” on the waiting and wonton public. A far gentler rhythm than “Hotspot”, “T1” focuses on creating a vibe that is smooth and subtle, whilst being an effective and emotive dancing track.
