Special Request is a new, hand-stamped series dedicated to capturing the energy of UK pirate radio, while pushing the boundaries of modern dancefloor music. The first Special Request 12“ features two absolute monster tracks from a legendary UK producer that has got Planet E, Hot Flush and Phonica Records all on his CV. The EP opens with the ‘Warehouse Mix ’ of “Lolita“– a menacing, eight minute long techno-meets-bass stomper that kicks off stripped down drum pattern – claps, hi-hat and a rubbery kick drum – that slowly gives way to an insistent riff that drills itself into your head and categorically refuses to leave. On the flip “Alone“ is a completely different beast, complete with breakbeats a plenty.
