On the occasion of the international financial crisis the two guys from Modeselektor, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, decided to found their own label, Monkeytown Records, to create a platform for befriended artists. "Anything Pharell Williams does, we can do better." Modeselektor's buddy Siriusmo personally invited himself to be the very first artist on Monkeytown Records and will be No. 001 of the still virginal label catalogue. Primarily, Siriusmo aka Moritz Friedrich is a real survivalist, played in a band for many years and is a fan of old keyboards. As a professional artist (painting, illustration, graffiti) Siriusmo lives off temporary jobs and even does construction work now and then. Just on extremely rare occasions can Moritz be seen on stage (children's birthday parties or other family get-togethers) - and even then his mood is rather shitty due to his bad receipt of criticism. His self therapeutic way of life shows a new side with "The Uninvited Guest". Sometimes bold, sometimes heartsick. Melodies that creep under your skin. Serious drama. Touching melancholy that collapses into absurdity and which makes fun of itself. Technical devices and a lot of phantasy artistically cover up lacking musical abilities. Moritz Friedrich already had quite a lot releases on respective labels such as Exploited and Boysnoize. His one and only comment on those releases: "On each record there is one song that I still like, the rest - unfortunately - is shit." Well, this is it for now. Or maybe there is still to mention that there will be two EPs by Siriusmo with a following (debut) album at the end of 2009, all on Monkeytown Records. Okay then - have fun!
