To those of you who know your techno, Shawn Rudiman should be a well-known name. A prolific producer, he has nevertheless always kept his quality control on a tight leash, and releases on 7th City, Technoir Audio, Integrated, Dust Science & Matrix (amongst others) have brought him a reputation of being one of the finest producers around of contemporary ‘Detroit style’ (aka melodic) techno. A nice taster on the last Minimalsoul release (’Sashimi Hi’) has hence led on to a full EP, and it’s classic stuff…tough beats and esoteric but catchy melodies all tied up with an expansive production ethic make for a great listen, and (perhaps unusually with this style of music) for a great dancefloor experience too!
