Back with a third release Sean Dixon’s Final Chapter label has a very solid and defined sound.
Opening with his own version, Sean delivers strong kicks, deep bass and steady percussion, together with warm melodic elements, with his synth tones with a feeling of looseness, all underpinned by steady vocal samples.
Oliver Deutschmann ratchets things up to deliver a weightier yet more stripped back version, relying much less on the range of the vocal sample, but maintaining the human connection with what is used. His second version, equally heavy, seems to roll more, while mangling vocal elements and allowing effects to help them fill space, as a solid bass tone drives the listener along.
Joel Alter provides a far lighter and more shuffled variant, which juxtaposes the previous reworks in a wonderful way as he maintains a quirky, but recognizably housier version of Sean Dixon’s original.
