Following releases on Argot and Smart Bar Chicago's North Side '82 label, Savile's Stripped & Chewed debut, No Sleep, Not In America, is a study in simplicity and its power on the dancefloor. Drawing from diverse American influences, the release's title track is a 130bpm wonky techno scorcher with an undulating funky bassline, A2 "When I Blow Fire" kicks the tempo down a notch and features the kind of vocal sample guaranteed to stick in your head, B1 "The Only Rule Is Work" is a cavernous house number anchored by a crystalline synth, and B2 "Thanks To The Heads (In Jackson Park),” plays like a love letter to classic Chicago house. No Sleep, Not In America tells you something: "My reference points are almost entirely American artists and genres," explains Savile.
