For an album that was born out of music composed for a theatre piece where the actors where blind in real life, “The State of this Monster” delivers an eclectic yet thoughtful mix of jazz, electronica, glitch and post rock that one can only patiently wait until the last song ends to play it again from the beginning. Miguel Toro’s vast sound palette has matured since the first Royal Dust “Royal Dust” album back in 2013. One can hear the sculpting of layers as if they where chapters of a storybook with each story being read by a different person.
