Memory Muscle is a fresh label with links to Vanity Project an Djelley. To kick things off, they've turned to confirmed citizen of the world Romain FX, a producer that frequently moves to a new city around the world in search of fresh inspiration. While the four tracks on show are varied, they all tend towards the psychedelic and mind-altering, with Romain FX diffing a cap to mid-90s progressive house and formative trance as well as tech-house and breakbeat. This hybrid sound is best exemplified by the acid-flecked, uplifting and melodious 'Floating World', but can also be heard on the trippy breaks workout 'Who Knows' and the colourful trance-not-trance flex of 'Track ID'. To round off a fine EP, Memory Muscle give 'Who Knows' a chunky, TB-303 laden house makeover.
