Road To Shaanxi's first EP, Revelation, will be released on True Panther Sounds on the 23rd of September. Little is know about Road To Shaanxi the producer. The music itself is cinematic, expressing a narrative of sorts, occupying the fill between club and headphones. Sonically it is much indebted to the UK electronic and dance music traditions – the stuttered moodiness of Mt Kimbie's debut Maybes EP, or Zomby's more emotive submerged garage moments. "Revelation" is, for lack of better words, a revelation. An expanding, dramatic yet oddly subdued piece that unfolds steadily until it's over. One could picture it soundtracking an end of the world sequence in slow motion, or just an end of the night set. The vinyl pressing will be limited to 500 copies and features the work of painter Augutus Thompson.
