Dublin collective Pear kick off their first release with the debut EP from local bearded maestro
r.kitt consisting of 4 kaleidoscopic house joints.
Pear: We are Fionn Fahey and Nevan Jio. We have been running parties in and around Dublin
for a couple of years now, do a weekly radio show and DJ quite a bit too. Our ethos is fairly
simple; fun, community heavy parties for everyone who likes to get down. Now, with the help of
All City, we are starting a record label which will act as an addendum to our club night. Along
the way, we hope to circle the house music sphere in all its various forms, shapes and sizes -
on and off beat. We’ve three records planned before the end of the year, starting with this one:
the Jigsaw EP.
Drawing deeply on influences from Chicago and distinct from the melodic emotion achieved by
artists like Larry Heard, each track on this 12 is awash in feeling alongside some strong rhythms
to provoke bodily movement. The melodies are deep and rich, the beats are banging and it sure
feels good.
In Robbie’s own words:
“My music is about 2 things: emotion and dancing. For me, the two are deeply connected. On
the dancefloor, movement inspires feeling and feeling inspires movement. I want your mind and
body to be lost in this experience. The Jigsaw EP is a map to get you there”
