The Chilean artist has been hailed as one of the most interesting newcomers to emerge from the electronic scene with releases on Border Community and Traum. Ricardo himself is not very interested in stardom he sees the way of working as an artist in a more traditional way… dissapearing, keeping away from digital showrooms. Tobar works with very little equipment and as he says his soundcard maybe the most expensive thing in his room. His music is a constant search for something new… sometimes brutally on the borders of noise sometimes very melodic. With Tobar tearing things up, going to the limit and making his soundcard sweat “Mi Pieza Esta Llena De Cosas” is another milestone in his life. The title track “Mi Pieza Esta Llena De Cosas” is probably the most perfect track on this EP, strong on the electronic side with lots of twists and psychedelic energy but also steadily keeping up the energy flow. The track moves mountains, combines slow motion massiveness with sirens singing wonderful unearthly melodies. This song is not of this world! The track was remixed by Traum artist Applescal hailed by De:Bug´s writers Sascha Kösch as one of the big hopes for 2010. His remix builds up steadily by using more of a rock drumming-kits, falls into a heavenly break and explodes after the break. “Amanecer” in contrast to “Mi Pieza Esta Llena De Cosas” starts as a old school techno house track, but get twisted in the direction of electronica in such a drastic way that we can see Tobar smiling to his inner self. This track carries a lot of joy and opens up hearts and souls. It show that the suppressed mind is his enemy no.1. “Antihouse” reminds us a bit of something… we thought about it for a while and then it made click: The fist two Underground Resistance records spring to our minds. Something we loved when we started with electronic music and this is a great idea to have a similar energy transformed in 2009, bravo. “We met at a Party” is the most ambient track on this 6 tr
