2600 Recordings is proud to present the latest release by veteran graffiti artist and producer Remdog. The Marabu Series EP (inspired by the spray paints of the same name) continues and expands on the heavy, layered electronics and clipped beats of his previous release Shadow In Your Rear view (Myuzyk) and his work as part of the electro-acoustic hip-hop group Reptiles. The Marabu Series EP is yet another highly limited (250 copies) 7" featuring two of the heaviest tracks from the EP, with an accompanying download card to obtain the full seven EP tracks. The 7" packaging features exclusive screen printed artwork by Remdog and is hand stamped and numbered in keeping with the 2600 Recordings tradition. Remdog has taken seven of his favourite colours from the Marabu range of paints and used these as inspiration for a tight EP of electronic glitch-hop. Zulu Nation-esque drum clicks and claps punctuate dark geometric synth waves, creating synesthesic club head-nodders that evoke the work of a diverse range of artists: from Prefuse73 and APC, to the heavy electronic hip-hop reminiscent of Rustie and early AI Records releases.
