For our milestone 50th release we felt we needed to do something special, so with that in mind we present the return of Red Axes to Correspondant. Way back in 2013 we were a new label, and they were a new face on the scene. Their hit record ‘Camino de Dreyfus’ helped propel both the label and the artist in to the established figures that both are today. ‘Avalon’ combines everything that’s good about the Axes, with their signature New Wave sound taking in the tropics, but skewed through a middle eastern kaleidoscope. ‘Sequência Astronomical’ is familiar territory to many Red Axes releases, but takes everything either deeper, darker, or weirder than they’ve previously ventured, showing the huge growth in their confidence in the intervening 3 years since their last Correspondant EP. To round off the package Correspondant also presents an as yet unavailable instrumental version of ‘Camino De Dreyfus’.
