Radiq aka yoshihiro hanno is well known for his broad musical skills as he is capable to compose from classical scores for movies to deep underground dance tracks. soon after “mo’ roots” ep on jackmate’s philpot, radiq has returned to his own imprint op.disc. he is to release two eps and this is the first one which contains three funky yet deep tracks. a [a man on the corner] kicks off the ep with sweet fender rhodes’ phrase and boogie bass on a sharp percussive groove. b1 [east avenue exit] sharpens the rhythm with its dry snare sound with deep voice samples. then, b2 [loco] wraps up the ep with its abstract sound sculpture.
