Based in Berlin, HIFI/LOFI Records is headed by franco-german DJ & Producer Franz Matthews. Initially used as a platform to release the music of his own projects, but also to throw parties in the french and german capitals, the label is evolving and now opening its arms to diverse artists. Electronic & cosmic poet PYRAME is the first outsider to join the family and get the HIFI/LOFI mark, backed by a constellation of some of the finest remixers of the moment, in the names of Acid Washed, Rodion, Days of Being Wild & Omer. As diverse as it wants to be, and not limited to any genre restrictions, the 'sound' of HIFI/LOFI can be defined by only one thing : Every release coming out of the label has been going through Matthews' MOWD studio at some point, and made according to the the 4th Toltec agreement : no matter what we do, no matter what we have, we always do our best at the moment we do it. In other words, HIFI/LOFI is all about eclecticism, openness, fun, and being the unifying light of every aspect in life & music, may it be good or bad. Because, we're sure of just one thing : AIN'T NO HI'S WITHOUT THE LO'S.
