After setting the tone at Born Electric’s Boiler Room take over, Sheffield’s Pedram primes his debut release on James Zabiela’s label Born Electric. With early support from Midland (who opened his Deckmantel set with Nina) George FitzGerald, Dusky and Tensnake, Nina/Immaturity demon- strates a knack for deeply musical production and marks a promising de- velopment in the Born Electric sound. Set to drop on the 11th November.
Nina’ opens things up with soft and rueful pads that overlap to build a rich, evolving texture. Delicately frayed percussion progresses alongside a cosmic bass sequence that sits below sparse but effective vocal chops
Equally sincere, ‘Immaturity’ slowly labours forth with droplets of soft synths and soulful vocals. Yawning pads and staggered percussive lines develop as a 4/4 rhythm subtly emerges.
