Her voice is so soulful and funky. I had been thinking about working with Shirley for some years since she opened the Marva Whitney show. Also the flip side is an instrumental entitled 'The Archipelago'. One of the best tracks I did with my band in a couple of years. The groove was so good that I hesitated to add anything else. Only, I asked Yuichi, one of the two guitarists to write the strings section. I hope these tracks explain what we do.
