After a short summer break spent sunbathing in Morecambe, Development Music return with a rather sun-drenched E.P just in time to catch the end of summer.
The EP features a wealth of European electronic music talent, all connected by the innovative production and song-writing skills of Dorset’s MXM.
After two previous outings on Development Music, alongside akiller EP for Philpot and various releases on his own Amp-Art imprint, MXM brings us his first full EP, featuring collaborations with Firecracker’s FudgeFingers, jazz vocalist Rachael Roberts and Italian remix sensation Nicholas.
The EP starts with the patient, slow lung funk of HarlemDollar$; a collaboration between MXM and Fudge Fingers that sounds like it’scome straight out of New York speakeasy into Theo Parrish’s sampler. The flipintroduces the sultry vocals of Rachael Roberts on Daylight, a jazzy and intricate house jam with shuffling beats and speaker warming orchestration, which Nicholas takes deep and tracky on his remix. The EP closes with Rhodekill Dischord with its peak time bassline, electronic stabs and soul-soaked strings.
