Way ahead of its time and quite incredible to imagine such a modern sounding record could have been made so many years ago... This Cult new wave/dance cover of the Doors’ classic was taken off the first of the two long-players that LA synth band Moebius (not to be confused with German electronic maestro... Dieter Moebius of Cluster and Harmonia fame ) released on Moonwind records, 1979-1980. This seminal 3 piece consisted of Bryce Robbley, Doug Lynner and Steve Roach, and ''Light my fire '', along with another album track ''Urth'', were massive plays for the likes of Beppe Loda (Typhoon Club) and Danilele Baldelli (Cosmic Club) back in the early 80's and remain in their boxes today. ("Light my Fire" features on Beppe Loda's forthcoming compilation ..Typhoon 2 on Light Sounds Dark - released later this year). The A side of this 12" features a glistening, chrome plated electro–disco mix from Mirwais. (his last remix being Uffie's "Pop the Glock"), a French pioneer who used to play ‘Light My Fire’ back in the 80's in discotheques all over Paris... it even became a hit in France! On the flip..the illusive Light Sounds Dark boys simply extend the unique original 7'' for a peak time wonky disco affair.
