Moniker Eggplant’s 9th installation is the label's fourth artist EP. The cuisine's chefs invite you to follow MESAK and CHACHA on their sonic odyssey into a 'Collapsing' world full of tumbling beats and spheres, seasoned with lyrics envisioning a decomposing world. The flipside offers 'Lahota', MESAK's poetic, yet utterly rhythmic ode to ancient, britten wood - A ride trough the muddy, dark and enchanted scandinavian forests.
MESAK was born as Tatu Metsätähti in Turku, Finland. He started his first electronic experiments during the 1990's in old-school electro and hip-hop projects. He was running the 'Huge Bass' club in his hometown until, from 2007 onwards, MESAK's and Randy Barracuda's own imprint HARMÖNIA became famous for its fresh synth funk better known as Skweee. Yet, as can also be heard on this EP, MESAK keeps on surfing on diverse sound waves and genres.
CHACHA, the jack off all trades vocalist from Shanghai, appeared guest singing on countless records—KODE9’s ‘Black Sun’ just being the top of the iceberg—while also putting out her own sounds under the moniker FADED GHOST.
Besides the two tracks on the vinyl, the ‘Decomposition EP’ has been remixed and versioned by PATRIC CATANI and PORKFOUR delivering the last two digital ingredients for the delicious audible dish. Each record comes with a download code for the original tracks as well as the remixes.
