Mella Dee, one half of much-lauded garage / house duo Mista Men (Greenmoney), presents ‘CTRL’, the debut release on Coyote Records. Essentially a colourful 8 bar grime joint that harks back to the early days of the sound, ‘CTRL’ combines punchy, hard-hitting bass with serious dance floor credentials.Remixes come from Baobinga, and Mr Mitch. Baobinga’s version is fast-paced, phrenetic remix full of ‘80s arcade sampling and breakbeat sounds, and some masterful eski-style breakdowns thrown in for good measure. Mr Mitch combines elements of funky, house, garage and grime to great effect in his mix, which has already won huge favour with Rinse FM stalwart Brackles. The release as a whole has so far received radio and club support from Seb Chew, Brackles, South London Ordnance, Royal T, Shox, Spooky, Martelo, Moxie, Mumdance, Last Japan and Blackdown amongst others. It has also been featured in Mumdance's latest Sonic Router mix and is scheduled to feature in next month's edition of Mixmag and Trap Magazine.
