Massimiliano Pagliara is a producer who has quickly gained a reputation as a musician who can join the gaps between house, electronica and disco. His productions have already found their way onto respected labels such as Eskimo, Live at Robert Johnson, Rush Hour and now Needwant.. The original is an electronic disco work out featuring the talents of vocalist Alessandro Tartari. It harks back to the early Italo analogue electronic era with a modern twist. On the instrumental it’s the machines do the talking with a scattering of guitar licks for seven minute electronic groover. Originally from Italy but now firmly based in Berlin you can hear the influences of venues such as Robert Johnson or Ostgut that Massimiliano is a regular guest DJ. The remix comes from celebrated low slung house hero Mark E. Mark is responsible for taking the art of re-editing to a whole new level and spawning the slo-mo house / disco sound that has become so popular in the last few years. He continues to deliver consistently excellent remixes and productions on his own Merc imprint and both mixes included here are no exception. On the Keep on Dreaming Main Mix, Mark keeps, possibly for the first time, the entire vocal but adds a throbbing bassline that will have house floors dancing all night long. This is house music with soul. The dub is strictly for the floor. Five minutes of intense bassline with old school house chords that will sound best with the lights low. Once again Mark has added his magic touch to produce a whole new direction for this worthy package.
