We signed Marshall Jefferson’s trippy deep house gem ’ Mushrooms’ to a house label of ours way back, had a seminal Salt City Remix done in the mid 90’s, let Justin Martin at it in the mid/late noughties and just recently got Trevino and Rush Hour bod Fritz Wentink to work it over for a 2012 shroom season special. It’s another good little package we hope. Trevino caps off a buzzing year with a Derelikt style bassline, crisp, swingy drums, and Jefferson’s notorious spoken word psychobilin paean floating over fluffy clouds of springy synth washes . Fritz Wentink goes fat and bumpy on the drums, with jazzy-jacking stabs, and subtle psychedelic flourishes. Both mixes have been garnering support from upstanding members of the entertainment industry, including Julio Bashmore on his R1 show, Zed Bias, Scratcha DVA, Hackman, Karma Kid and more.
