The album "Leda -- Welcome To Joyland" was produced by Peter Baumann, former member of the electronic music pioneers "Tangerine Dream" and has originally been released in 1978. The female singer remains absolutely unknown. The whole Leda project is actually something like a Peter Baumann blueprint. The synth melodies and arpreggiator loops bearing Baumann's handwriting flowing easy an innovative over a basement of analog drums which are inviting with straight beats to the dance floor. The female vocals just gliding surrealistic and inherent through this world of analog electronic music as nobody could challenge there would be an existence of the music without the vocal or instrumental part. On top of this sapient and minimal musical construct the privy in a higher secret lyrics just bringing this musical constructed bomb to a final explosion. This release anticipated nearly every style in 1978 which was coming up in the following years until the early to mid 80's beginning with Minimal Synth, Synthesizer Pop to Italo Disco and also Wave. After listening to this record you'll probably recognize it is above all that music which has been produced during the era the record was released. It is a fusion of upcoming styles that is so far ahead of its time that more than 30 years after its first release it arrives so unbelievable fresh and up to date on the dance floors that it would be hard to introduce it as a vintage production to somebody who do not already know this LP. It does not sound very 70's like. An absolute prototype of modern club music! The Implication is that this album is recommended to you if interested in collecting, producing or playing electronic music. No matter if you're searching for the vintage or modern stuff.
