We kick-started our year with Kresy and we’re going to end it with him. In the wake of the celebrated “Lords Of Percussion”, the rising producer from Asturias presents “Basement Trax”, his more danceoor-oriented material to date. Inspired by the sounds of labels such as Nu Groove, Strictly Rhythm or DJ International, Kresy leaves behind the psychedelic sounds of his previous EP to deliver four slices of the good ol' House rawness. Analoghearted tracks that merge vintage sounds and modern production to celebrate the power and sensuality of classic dance music. “Day Into Night” is a hands-in-the-air oorburner powered by warm basslines and swirling melodies that get boosted with a mischievous acid sequence. Topping the mix, a fervent vocal sample that summarizes the premise of the whole release; “We gonna play houseee”. “Miles In The Galaxy” is a more deep affair. In a nod to Detroit's metropolitan sorrow, Kresy sculpts profound atmospheres ooded with oaty keys and chunky analog toms. In the B Side, “Baby In Love” delves into the blend of sensuous vocal snips, thumping house rhythms and acid madness, in this case guided by an organ bass and epic pads that keep the heat rising. Closing the EP, “Mystic Strings” lays menacing strings, bleepy melodies and razorsharp hi-hats in what sounds as a reinforced version of a classic Virgo Four production. The release comes in a limited edition 12” with artwork by Hivern's in-house designer Arnau Pi.
