In 2021, Australia’s favorite psychedelic sons made waves by enlisting turntable hero DJ Shadow for an epic, block-rocking remix and hilarious accompanying video. Now, that collaboration is finally seeing release on vinyl. Dropping November 25th at 2pm GMT worldwide, King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard’s “Black Hot Soup (DJ Shadow ‘My Own Reality’ Re-Write) vinyl edition is a limited, translucent 12” single with red, blue & yellow splatter. Strictly limited to 2,000 copies, the platter is being made available online at both artist websites, as well as very select retail outlets via Above Board Distribution. “I’m glad that it’s finally getting a proper vinyl release,” says Shadow. “It’s nice to commemorate art you’re proud of with something physical, just to mark the occasion with some permanence.” As far as the B-side? Well, let’s just say you’re going to want to REWIND that.
